We have two different board & trains one is 3 weeks and the other is 6 weeks long. Your dog will come to our property for the agreed-upon time and dates.
During our 3-week basic program, the trainer will teach the dog to sit, down, stay, come, place, and heel. Your dog may already know some or most of these commands; however, we will teach them that they are not optional. Your dog will perform the commands even without treats and even under considerable distractions by proofing them during the board and train program.
Our 6-week program is for dogs that may need more training time than the 3-weeks. This board and train program teaches the dog to sit, down, stay, come, place, and heel, both on and off-leash.This board and train program will grant your dog exposure to different environments, distractions, and real-life situations while in our training program. This program is the best course for most owners with dogs with behavioral problems such as: biting, fighting, resource guarding, territorial aggression, growling, snapping, fear aggression, and dominance aggression.
Each dog is different therefore we will require an evaluation before a board & train can be confirmed. We will be honest and upfront about what training would be best based on what we see at your evaluation. Our board & trains are for dogs of every breed, 16-weeks and up, and lifestyle. Whether you have had training or a failed board & train, one of our programs can be for you.
Please reach us at info@standsalonecanine.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We start with a free evaluation of your dog. We will come to your house and see the dog in their home. If we feel that a board and train would best work for your dog we will determine if a 3 or 6-week train is needed. While they are in our care, they will work on a customized training plan set up by the owner and the trainer so they are both on the same page.
Our 3-week and 6-week both require a half deposit upfront and are due two days before the agreed pick-up date. The other half is due at the time of drop-off. Contact us for these prices.
Yes, you will be allowed to come see your dog during their stay but only when the trainer feels it is a good time and they reach out to schedule something. We will not update multiple times a day due to the fact we have other dogs in our care and are not training 24/7 with them.
